Things to Do in September Near Metairie, LA

With the seasons changing and temperatures (hopefully) cooling off, Lakeside Toyota wants our customers to get outside and enjoy the activities around Metairie! Here are a couple of events to check out during September that are near Metairie, LaPlace, Kenner, and New Orleans!

Start your weekends off by getting zen with Vibe Higher Flow organized by NOLA Vibe Yoga at Hotel Peter and Paul! These yoga classes take place every Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Hotel Peter and Paul church great hall. Classes are free, but donations are accepted. Bring a yoga mat, a towel, and some water to get your Saturday going!

Frenchmen Art Bazaar is the place to be if you’re artsy! Hosted every night except for Tuesdays, Frenchmen Art Bazaar is a free way to support local artists in New Orleans. Stop by 619 Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 to check out this outdoor art show starting at 7 p.m.!

If you’re always in the mood for something sweet, Beignet Fest on September 23 is perfect for you! Enjoy over 50 different beignet dishes, both savory and sweet, and live music from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at New Orleans City Park Festival Grounds. For the fashionistas in the area, New Orleans Fashion Week kicks off on September 19 and runs until September 23. Sports fanatics definitely need to be at Seimone Augustus’ Author Talk and Book Signing at Baldwin & Co. on September 28! Starting at 6 p.m., Augustus will be discussing her new book, Hoop Muses: An Insider’s Guide to Pop Culture and the (Women’s) Game which tells the tale of women’s basketball and women who have made history playing the game. Afterwards, the LSU alum will hold a Q&A session and book signing.
