Keep Kids Safe: Child Passenger Safety Week 2025

At Lakeside Toyota, we believe safety should always come first — especially when it comes to our youngest passengers. That’s why we’re proud to recognize Child Passenger Safety Week, taking place this year from September 21–27, 2025. This national campaign is dedicated to helping parents and caregivers ensure that children are riding safely, every time they’re in the car.

Why Child Passenger Safety Matters

Car seats and booster seats save lives — but only when they’re used correctly. Choosing the right seat for your child’s age, weight, and height, and making sure it’s properly installed, are two of the most important steps you can take to protect your child in the event of a crash.

In 2023, an average of two children under 14 were killed and 345 were injured every day in passenger vehicle crashes. Sadly, 43% of children killed in these crashes were unrestrained.

These numbers are heartbreaking — and preventable.

Find the Right Seat with Confidence

The Four Types of Car Seats:

1. Rear-Facing Car Seats – Best for infants and young toddlers.
2. Forward-Facing Car Seats – Equipped with a harness and tether for older toddlers and preschoolers.
3. Booster Seats – Help older children fit in the vehicle’s seat belt properly.
4. Seat Belts – For children who have outgrown booster seats, typically around 4’9″ in height.

As part of Child Passenger Safety Week, National Seat Check Saturday gives you the opportunity to have your child’s car seat professionally inspected — for free! Certified technicians will be available to make sure your seat is installed correctly and provide hands-on tips for future use.
